Food is fuel for your body like gas is fuel for your car. You would not fill your gas tank with water, first of all, your car would not go anywhere. Secondly, you would destroy the engine.
So likewise, you cannot fill your body with sugar and processed foods. Foods high in sugar are the ones to avoid such as soft drinks, sports drinks, fruit juices, sweet drinks, syrups, and desserts. Junk food such as French fries, fried foods, pizza, potato chips, pasta, white rice, and white bread.
Eating these foods contain many empty calories and no nutrition to the body.
With the proper food your body will have the nutrition it needs for proper skeletal growth, normal tooth structure, healthy skin, eyes, hair, healing, disease protection, build and repair cells and body tissues, maintain the organs , provide energy, fuel and warmth to list a few. The human body is constantly striving for chemical balance. Vitamins and mineral are essential for body reactions affecting all major body systems.
Some important foods to include are leafy green, brightly colored vegetables such as carrots, broccoli, spinach, along with citrus fruits and berries, beans and legumes, nuts and seeds, whole grains, fish and lean meats.
A well balanced diet ensures that nutrients are properly distributed to all areas of the body.
Only by properly meeting nutritional needs can you maintain health, guard against illness and lose weight.
Vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, proteins and fats are the fuels that keep human bodies running smoothly. By educating ourselves on the foods which provide these nutrients our health can be improved, with a consequent improvement in our quality of life.
